Photographing kids is about 90% psychology and tricks, 10% photography. Whether your child is days old, four or twelve years old, I’m going to make sure that they are happy, having fun and looked after.
I believe in the power of displaying photographs in the home. Studies have shown that photos displayed in the home boost children’s confidence and their sense of belonging. It may be subconscious, but when they see them every day, they know they belong. That’s why I place a big emphasis on tangible photographs.
The PhotoWorthy Images Studio is based at beautiful Kairaki Beach, just a stone’s throw from Kaiapoi, and only 20 minutes north of Christchurch. The Studio looks over a meandering creek, and is just a short stroll from a forest, sand dunes, and the beach. The mouth of the braided Waimakariri River meets the Pacific Ocean close by. This stunning natural playground right on my doorstep is like an extended studio, providing us with unlimited opportunities to work either inside the Studio, or in the ‘Outdoor Studio’. I love working in such an inspirational location and my clients love coming to visit!
PhotoWorthy Images is a full service studio, meaning everything is handled inhouse. I will be with you every step of the way throughout your photographic adventure, from that very first planning session, to hanging your stunning piece of wall art in your home. Don’t worry if you don’t know where to start. It’s my job to guide you through the process and deliver you a truly unique, and custom designed experience. We offer a full range of products, from framed prints, to canvas, albums and photo books, and even an heirloom wooden portrait box full of images. The About Products page has all the information you’ll need.

Our first meeting is usually in my consultation room, a relaxed space, where over a cup of tea or coffee, we can chat about all the options, and how we are going to create photos which are all about YOU and your family!
The Studio is a modern, comfortable environment for your family’s photographic sessions. It is equipped with professional, controlled ‘in studio’ lighting, and has an abundance of costumes, maternity gowns, Fantasy clothing, and props, which can be incorporated into your images if desired.
All Fantasy sessions are photographed here in the studio, with options to venture into the outdoors, or visit a location of your choice for other session types.
Our ‘extended studio’ in the beautiful natural playground of Kairaki Beach, provides us with unlimited possibilities for outdoor sessions. The beach, forest, nearby playgrounds, river and creek can provide a stunning backdrop for your photographs.

The photography profession in New Zealand is highly competitive and unregulated, which does create some risk, for you, the consumer.
I’m proud to be an accredited member of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography, which is the only qualifying body for Professional Photographers in New Zealand. In fact, this year, I was awarded Master with Distinction level!
Each region has an elected Regional Rep, who is responsible for organizing regular meetings, education and looking after the members. I am proud to be starting my fourth year in this role.
Membership is only gained through a demanding Accreditation process, with the Institute having a stringent membership criteria and Code of Ethics. This ensures that members are professional in both their creative and business practices. The Institute strives to maintain and promote the highest professional standards in the industry through education, fellowship and support.
I find it highly beneficial to be part of this vibrant, supportive body of professional photographers from all over New Zealand who support, challenge, and encourage each other to be the best they can be.
